About the artist / Artist's Statement
In my works, I try to portray the essence of each sea form. I aim to capture that specific factor that best brings out the beauty and character of each piece of work. Vast amount of visual research and sketching is done to provide me a greater understanding of the forms. I endeavor to avoid my work from being over-handled, but will push the boundaries of expression by stretching and tearing clay to its limits to recreate the feeling of life by embedding the energy of the beauties beneath the waves in a still form. This series of works is about marine rights, hunt sabotaging and the preserving of nature. It is a celebration of the essence of life.
