About the artist / Artist's Statement

The act of ‘making’ with other human beings is a large part of the experience of Chor Leng’s working process. She creates a platform where the environment - be it the general public or indoor/outdoor conditions - plays a large role in the outcome of the artwork. Her installations/sculptures being site-specific, are often made out of materials gathered from where ever it is that she resides, creating a physical and psychological connection between the work, the place and it's viewers. Using art to effect social change is integral to her work which has come to the fore as video documentation within her installations.
