About the artist / Artist's Statement
My works is a collective memo of my childhood memories of amusement parks and playgrounds. My childhood plays an important part in my practise, often recalled how fun it was to have my toy cars and dolls to mess with. Indulging with visual ideas of imaginary cities, scapes and beings, conjuring up a mental world of my own. Using such elements in my work, I explore details to create a surreal, imaginary landscape that at once comes across as both monstrous and naïve, engaging the child in me. For a new series of works I am doing now, I am making vases for the “mother”-nature, inspired by the ancient history of ruins and abandoned architecture and also my writings about depressed women.
