About the artist / Artist's Statement

Visual artist Kelly Reedy’s passion for art history and culture has taken her around the world seeking inspiration. After completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in the United States and France, she spent ten years painting and travelling in Europe, India and the U.S. Her experiences in Singapore since 1997 have transformed her female portraits into goddesses and other universal images. A long-standing interest in medieval icons has fused with a fascination for Asian folk arts. The latest body of work displays an original integration of several iconographic traditions. Reedy shows an astonishing mastery of forms, control of drawing and love of colour.
